The SOIAOI, James Baldwin Award is an annual award presented by Speak On It, Act On It (SOIAOI), Inc to recognize and honor residents of Carroll County, Maryland or counties adjacent to Carroll County who Speak On and Act On the themes of James Baldwin. 

The award is meant to honor individuals who celebrate African American Culture and encourages African Americans to embrace their heritage.

These individuals Speak on and Act on injustice, inclusion, equity and racism.

Requirements

Self-nominations are allowed. The award is presented annually at the SOIAOI, JUNETEENTH in Carroll event.
